result of women’s increased advancement into
managerial and leadership roles, they occupy
historically unfamiliar terrain. One particular area
of unfamiliarity that these women encounter is the
women managing women dynamic. This phenomena raises
questions regarding the traditional male dominant
style of managing and leading and whether this style
is applicable to the woman to woman dynamic. The
seminar provides an orientation regarding this
phenomena, it examines the unique challenges present
when women manage women, and it provides strategies
for successfully navigating this dynamic. The
resultant organizational and individual benefits
associated with understanding and maximizing the women

Kellye Jones, Ph.D.
Associate, BDRGlobal, Inc.
Associate Professor, Management - The University of
Texas at Arlington
Dr. Jones has most recently been a faculty
member of The University of Texas at
Arlington. She has integrated her academic
and practitioner experience for more than 15
years. Given her involvement in both
research and practice, she has a heightened
awareness of the challenges and
opportunities that contemporary
organizations confront.
Kellye has
developed corporate training and has provided
consultative services for executives and senior
managers at various business, professional, and
governmental organizations including SBC, AT&T, The
National Association of Women Business Owners, The
National Association of Female Executives, The
Department of Labor, and The Department of Commerce.
Her primary areas of expertise include strategic
planning and management, leadership, and, gender and
diversity in organizations.
